Waiting on Morning

I have not been on my blog in a long time but concentrating on watching many instructional videos to  take up painting again.  A wonderful site that allows you to use photos as inspiration to use in your art  without infringing on the photographers rights  has been a go to for me.  Paint My Picture contributor John Johnsons Photo that is above is the one I was using along with Ginger Cooks live video instructions laid the basis for this painting.  It was heading for the trash can before I took a pallet knife and more paint to it.  Still could use some work and I know that there are many mistakes but it is a step in the right direction.  I guess I just want to say never give up on a painting.  In a few days I will look at this again and maybe twerk a few spots but it seems to be working for me!!!

Sketching in Acrylic

I love that it is spring!!!  I am sure that winter will still try to sneak in a little of the white stuff over the next few weeks but I know when I see and hear the robins and my tulip bulbs start peeking thru the ground the winter is basically over and warmer more uplifting weather is on the way.  So this am when i set down for my coffee and computer fix I decided to sketch some tulips with acrylics  Not the best but man I really needed this fix
Happy Spring everyone!!!!

MY Sherpa's War Pony Painting

18x24 canvas
Acrylic Heavy Body Paints
https://youtu.be/n5VlOBaA6mc Sherpa Tutorial
I have done quite a few of the sherpa's painting tutorials now and with each one I learn something new wether it is color theory, perspective, or brush stroke  I am beginning to be able to do most of the sketching in by myself now.  I think one of the biggest thing I learned is it is ok to paint something for yourself that someone else paints and all its little imperfections makes it your own.

What this Blog is about and for

Over the last few months I have been leaning towards Acrylic Painting and expressing myself on canvas.  There is something about a fresh blank canvas and a paint brush that excites me.  Like any other media there is so much to learn and study.

I have to say that I have been truly inspired by an artist and true teacher that I found on You Tube. Cinnamon Cooney theartsherpa.  If you ever desired to pick up a paint brush and didn't know which way to go you should visit her you tube site.  Her instructions are wonderful and very encouraging to all levels of the artist within.

I must mention that there are many others i watch and follow that encourage me to discover how to achieve a part of me on canvas.

                                                                                               Ginger Cook

Who happens to be the mother of the Art Sherpa is another Acrylic Artist that I have also taken to following and signed up the online lessons.  The students that follow both of these wonderful ladies are oh so helpful and encouraging.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention another Artist that I found from the You Tube site that I also follow and am inspired byAngela Anderson

The communities that follow and the members from these artist has open a whole new world to me.  One that I had felt I had lost or put on hold for many years.

This blog is going to be about my journey and might be a combination of art education a mixture.  I hope a place of encouragement also.  I know that I will probably have a lot of mixed media on here to.  I love all areas of art and love learning and discovering expression of eye pleasing beauty.  I guess how did they do that and can I learn to express these things in all that I do.  What makes me happy!!!
